Principles of Macroeconomics

Good morning and welcome back to Lexington.  As part of our Economics 102 course we will be using this blog to conduct a conversation about macroeconomics.  Each week I will post several articles pertaining to world events and expect you (the students) to partake in one of the discussions each week.

Your first assignment is to tell us a little about yourself - in particular - why are you taking a Principles of Macroeconomics course.

Looking forward to an enlightening and rewarding semester.

Jim

  2. My name is Catherine Salm and I am from Lakeland, Florida. I am primarily taking Econ 102 because I am a politics major and this class is required. However, I am also taking this class because my parents, like we discussed in class, believe that a basic understanding of economics is necessary. I took a basic economics class for one semester in high school in addition to taking taking Econ 101 at Washington and Lee. After Econ 101, I realized I enjoy learning the subject but did not do particularly well on the tests. I am hoping that I will also enjoy macroeconomics and perhaps understand it better since it is more relevant to my everyday life.

  3. Hello my name is Jonathan Sells and I am from Tampa, Florida. I am taking this course because it is a requirement for the International Politics major. Although I am taking this class only because I is required I do find Economics to be very valuable and interesting.

  4. Hey everybody. I'm a junior physics major but I've enjoyed economics since an introduction class in high school. I'm taking this class because I find the subject matter interesting and as a chance to round my education. In addition to those two reasons, I'm also taking a few business major classes in anticipation of finding a dream job that would combine physics and business.

  5. Yo my name is Johnny Gragg. I am a senior engineering major from San Antonio, TX. I am taking this class because I found microeconomics to be very interesting and I am not ready to stop learning more about econ. I am going into the real world next year and would like to learn more about the economics of our country. I am ready for a great semester and excited to learn more about macroeconomics.

  7. My name is Lauren Abraham and I'm a sophomore politics major and poverty minor from Richmond, VA. I am taking this course because having a basic understanding of economics will be really useful in the field I want to pursue. In particular, I want to learn more about the economics behind policy making. I enjoyed taking micro and am interested in applying some of these concepts to more applicable topics in my everyday life.

  9. I'm Matthew Smith and I'm a sophomore from Little Rock, Arkansas. My major is Business and Accounting, so technically I'm taking macro as a major requirement. An interesting fact is that when I was 12 I won a trip for four to Cancun from a NutriGrain bar.

  14. I found a blog that actually offers free Micro and Macro economic study materials. For both AP and Regular Econ. There are study guides, formula sheets, free textbooks, notes, graph review sheets, outlines, practice tests. You don't need to register or any of that BS.

The blog is a blogger site:
